The Best High-Paying Freelance Gigs of the Week: December 2, 2019

It’s been a bit because of the holidays, but I’m back with you’re round-up of the best freelance writing gigs of the week. These gigs pay at least $50 an article, offer a full-time salary, or pay more than $20 an hour. They are also all remote (also known as virtual jobs or work-from-home jobs). This means you can do the work from anywhere you want. How awesome is that?

Note: I don’t know anything about these positions other than what I post. I weed out the seedy looking ones, but it is your job to be diligent when applying. Also, please don’t message me with questions about the postings. If a link doesn’t work the posting has probably been taken down because the gig has been filled. If you have a gig for freelance writers that pays at least $50 a peice or over $20 an hour, please contact me and I will include your gig in next week’s post.

From their site:

Our Mission: Our goal is to support reporting and commentary on the labor movement and work from a militant perspective, support freelance labor journalism, and to fairly compensate authors for their labor.

We encourage all submissions related to specific struggles, strategic questions in labor, or the state of work in the United States and abroad. We particularly encourage pieces that connect worker struggles to big picture questions about worker power and the state of the labor movement, and encourage contributions that speak to issues faced by younger workers, contingent workers, and the unorganized.

How to Send Us Your Work: We accept pitches at news@thestrikewave.com. We prefer pitches to complete pieces; however, we will consider both. Once we’ve accepted your pitch, please send us a Google document with edit permissions, or a Microsoft Word .doc or .docx. We do not accept all submissions, and will typically publish a maximum of one outside contribution per month. We hope to increase the volume of contributed pieces in the future.

Formatting Your Manuscript: All manuscripts should be between 800 and 1200 words; longer submissions will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Contributors are asked to include a brief biographical note with their submissions.

Our Editorial Standard: We typically do not edit for content, and trust our contributors to lay out their own perspective. We copy edit and lightly edit for style.

Payment: We pay a minimum rate of $150 per submission. Contributors that derive their primary source of income from writing should send us their standard rate along with their submission.

Payment will be through PayPal. An invoice for the work should be sent to news@thestrikewave.com through PayPal’s invoice feature. We will make every effort to submit pay to authors the day of publication, and will send it no later than one week after publication.
